RubyClaire Tips on Packing a Suitcase

RubyClaire Tips on Packing a Suitcase

Posted by Sara on Jan 5th 2020

Traveling is fun but can also be very stressful, especially when every inch of suitcase real estate is limited! With the new year comes lots of travel goals and dreams. We want to make it easy for you, so we've come up with a couple useful tips on how to save space and worry less, RubyClaire style of course!

First, we’ve picked out three RubyClaire outfits that we are going to pack today. For bottoms this includes: The Chelsea Jeans, Stevie Skinny Jeans, and Palmer Skinny Jeans to start!

Second, since it’s still pretty chilly we picked out three sweaters to show how packing bulky clothes can be a breeze. We’re packing our Chunky Knit Off The Shoulder Sweater, Round Neck Ultra Soft Sweater, and our Rainbow Stripe Sweater.

Tip #1:

Make sure to roll your clothes instead of folding them. The reason for this is because when you roll your clothes you are able to get a much tighter pack! To help visualize how much space you can save when rolling clothes up, imagine folding up a puffy sleeping bag instead of rolling it up, it’s bulky instead of air tight.

Tip #2:

Roll your bottoms around your tops to create grab and go outfits! If you have kids, this step is an easy way to make sure you stay worry free while traveling. It’s also a fast and easy way to stay organized and to make sure you’ve brought the right amount of clothes for everyone!

Tip #3:

Stay organized with more bags. Compartments are your best friend! Especially if an unorganized suitcase makes you stressed. There’s nothing worse than trying to mentally separate your dirty clothes from the clean ones, make it easy for yourself and buy a cheap reusable laundry bag!

Tip #4:

Keep “messy” toiletries separate during flights. Put lotions, toothpaste, and shampoo in one bag and all other toiletry items in another. This is an easy way to clean up one small mess instead of two messes if multiple bottles were to explode.

Finally, pack it all in and have a fun stress free vacation knowing you've packed smart! Thanks for reading this week and we hope all of these tips help during your next vacation!
